IT'S GETTING HOT IN HERE...!
By now many of us have begun the wonderful summer months full of pool and beach activities, trips & vacations, and maybe even some relaxation! Depending on where you live, you may have even been experiencing a great deal of rain or high temperatures for quite some time already! As I live in Texas, I've been experiencing plenty of both of the latter in the last two months and have really noticed the heat seemed to dial up in the past few weeks.
That being said, I've become more more aware of how well I need to take care of myself during these more trying months on my body and I've decided that there are definitely some different steps I can take to ensure that my body and skin remain healthy :) Seeking expert advice has been one of my more recent objectives, as I feel that I may not have given my skin for example- as much attention as I should have! What better place to get the right information from someone who has expertise in the field...such as cosmetic surgeon and owner of Dermacare Laser & Skin Care, Dr. Jeff Birchall.

several things can happen from overexposure to the sun during the summer months:
1. increased dullness.
2. increased redness.
3. brown spots.
3. wrinkles :/
4. higher risk for skin cancer!
here are ways to prevent harmful skin damage
1. wear protective clothing.
2. apply sunscreen in the morning and throughout the day!
3. stay in the shade when possible!!
4. use antioxidants like vitamin c & e.
5. drink green tea & caffeine to help reduce and prevent redness.
6. use an spf powder and reapply throughout the day.
IS THERE A PRODUCT THAT DR. JEFF BIRCHALL RECOMMENDS?!
colorescience sunforgettable powder $57
I've had the opportunity to try out this powder for myself a while ago with a sample and I absolutely LOVE it :) I get constant breakouts and this one of the few mineral powders out there that doesn't get cakey, clog my pores, and cause more trouble with my skin! It's great for the summer since it goes on super light, but it provides light to medium coverage. You can get the product in a 30 SPF with 4 shade options or a 50 SPF [$64] with 3 shade options. This is really my FAV part about this product in particular- it offers a fantastic mineral makeup with the added protection from skin damage too :)
