GREEN TEA: THE ORGANIC ANTIOXIDANT FOR SKIN

by Christina

THE BENEFITS OF GREEN TEA HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME...

The use of Green Tea and its origination dates back over 4000 years in China although many cultures in Asia also recognize its benefits and widespread usage. It has become more popular here in the U.S. in recent years. The difference between black and green tea is that the latter contains more raw materials for extracts that are used in everything from drinks to cosmetics!

Although there are also many health claims and benefits of Green Tea, it has yet to have been proven in the scientific community and could even lead to harmful effects if too much is consumed! However, there has been initial and promising research that may indicate positive effects, but those have yet be studied further in order to determine its claimed health effects.

SO WHAT EXACTLY DOES GREEN TEA DO FOR YOUR SKIN?!?

A lot of us may have wondered this at one point or another...I have certainly thought about it! I've seen a LOT of products on the market with this focus and ingredient in mind and also heard about its medicinal properties as well- such as teas, etc. But, I'd never really done much research or looked into what is does for your skin! The interesting thing is, there isn't much out there in regards to what I would consider to be credible information and research so the verdict is still really out on if and what it does for your skin.

There has been some promising research in this area though! A few studies have found possible protection from skin cancer, reduction in sun damage, reduces skin inflammation, and may even help with rosacea! Although no studies done have found that Green Tea can actually help with the signs of aging, it may aid in improving the elasticity of skin content.

BONUS PRODUCT REVIEW:

BODY MERRY-HYALURONIC DEW SERUM $13.99*

I've been quite impressed with Body Merry's products thus far and thought this would be a great product to review as it does contain the key ingredient mentioned in today's post- Green Tea! The Dew Serum also contains Vitamin C as well. It's very affordable and comes in a 1 oz. sized bottle. One thing I definitely enjoyed about their bottle and approach to packaging was that I could actually place it out and it looked nice wherever it was sitting!

The bottle is a nice glass dropper container that is made in a beautiful cobalt blue color! The glass dropper is also very well made and super easy to dispense. As for the formula itself, absolutely and totally clear, NO smell, and just the right consistency and texture that you would expect from a similar good quality type of serum! It only took a total of 3-5 drops to cover my entire face and neck area so this bottle will last me forever and really go a long way. I was really surprised at the formula's good consistency and concentration-especially for this price of UNDER $14! :0

Ultimately, this would be an awesome serum for ANYONE to start out with...no matter age or skin tone or type!....this serum would most likely work for everyone :) It's an organic beauty product that's beyond affordable and Merry Berry really does make good, quality products that they stand behind and guarantee! I would HIGHLY recommend this Dew Serum from Merry Berry= 5 STARS!!!
