THE AGE OLD PROVERB REALLY IS TRUE!

I am sure that many of us have grown up hearing this, possibly from our own mothers- "Make sure to get your beauty sleep!" But I don't know that I've actually followed this motto very well :( It has been become increasingly difficult to keep up pace AND sleep- with school, work, home life, blogging,...and too many things to list! I don't think I noticed how much  of a tole little or no sleep can take on your body both mentally and physically until I started going back to school a couple of years ago, while also working full-time!Not only have I seen a change in how I feel, but I also LOOK tired :( This is one of the main reasons for some of the changes I've made in my own life recently in regards to my sleep patterns and exercise! I wanted to see if increasing my movement and exercise levels in addition to increasing my amount of sleep would make an overall betterment to my health. It was even easier to make some adjustments to my diet too and this is something that I am not usually very willing to change!

To start out, my fiance and I started to take walks around the neighborhood at least a couple if not 3-4 times weekly. There are some lovely homes with well put-together lawns that make nice scenery as we take our nightly strolls. As an added bonus, it's given us some nice time together to talk and enjoy each other's company in a different setting that at home :) We also both chose to start purchasing fresher and healthier options for our daily meals AND snacks. I've begun to learn and practice some Yoga too! I was able to find a couple of good apps to use on my smart phone for example to help with learning some of the poses and good background sounds/music. I just find a small quiet corner in the house and take about 15 and create my own session and I've tried doing this at least a couple of times a week. 

Lastly, I knew that simply getting more sleep would help significantly in getting my beauty sleep, but I wanted to make sure to take a thorough approach as well. That's when I started looking into some organic and natural alternative sleep aids and other methods that might help me get to sleep faster, stay asleep, and get better rest! I've had issues with all of those sleep problems which is why I decided that a sleep aid could be a good idea for me. However, I will say that some people may never need to think about a sleep aid or have use for it. 

If you are one of those people though that is like myself and you do not always get the best sleep and see that you might have other sleep issues or bad sleep patterns, this would be a great consideration for you. There are a LOT of awesome products on the market that are natural and organic alternatives and come in pill and cream forms. I have given the pills a try before and although they did seem to work, the dosage often seemed to be too much and would cause me to have headaches or oversleep and feel groggy the entire day! This is why I chose to go for something a little different in approach, but with the same goal in mind- good sleep :)

THE VERDICT:

If you are in the market for something that can really help you sleep and isn't going to cause side effects, then this is definitely the product for you :) As I was mentioning above, on my quest to better my health, well-being, and get a better beauty sleep- I luckily stumbled upon this Melatonin Cream from Vita Sciences! 

It has NO smell at all, which I really liked and feels very much like a lotion. It is slightly thicker though than most lotions in general, but I did notice that it didn't seem to have an issue rubbing into the skin- regardless of the creamier product. I chose to follow the suggested directions and apply one FULL pump onto the skin. The directions did not advise where exactly to place on the skin so I chose to apply to the dry areas of my neck and hands. 

It only took about 3-4 minutes to completely absorb into the skin and dry and it seemed that by the time that happened I was already wondering if I was starting to feel as though I could lay down for bed. It did take about 15 minutes total after application, but I was ready to go sleep by the time that time rolled around! Usually it can take me twice as long to fall asleep so already I was impressed. 

However, I made my mind up that the real test to the quality and effectiveness of the product would be during sleep and after! As soon as I awoke after the first usage, I could tell right away that I had slept incredibly well and better than I had slept in quite a while :) The second thing I was very pleased to realize is that I woke up with no grogginess and absolutely NO head pain! That's a huge improvement from other Melatonin products I've tried in the past. I've even gone for items that were half the dosage and in pill form and did not get the results that I got with this Melatonin Cream from Vita Sciences! 

There are 60 doses total in the pump bottle, but I quickly found that I didn't need the full pump and dosage to get the results and improvement on my sleep pattern I was looking for! With using only half a pump, I can get more towards twice that amount of 120 doses! That means you are looking at 60-120 doses at under $20, which is a very good deal for what you are getting- a good, quality, effective product from Vita Sciences!
