FIRST THINGS FIRST THOUGH...WHAT ARE ACID PEELS?
An acid or rather a chemical peel is normally used to improve skin texture and is usually used for your face and neck areas. The chemical solution actually causes your dead skin to fall off and eventually peel off! It is recommended to in the very least consult a professional in regards to using a chemical peel and if possible, get their assistance with application. When it comes to types, there are many but there main chemical peel types are: AHA's (Alpha hydroxy acids), BHA's (Beta Hydroxy Acid Peels), Jessner's peel, Retinoic Acid, and Croton oil or Phenol peels. With AHA's, there are normally 5 types of fruit acids: tartaric, lactic, citric, glycolic, and malic acids. AHA's can also be combined with facial washes and other skin care products to improve the peel's effectiveness, while lessening the concentration of the peel as well; they also tend to be the most mild as far as chemical peels go.
TOP 5 REASONS YOU WANT TO ADD AN ACID PEEL TO YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE:
1. tO DIMINISH ACNE.
2. LESSEN SUN SPOTS & IMPROVE SKIN TONE.
3. IMPROVE OVERALL SKIN TEXTURE/SMOOTHNESS.

5. REDUCE, IF NOT ELIMINATE SCARS!
WHAT CHEMICAL PEEL DOES THE BEAUTY CLOSET RECOMMEND?
[RE]fRESH SKIN THERAPY- FRUIT ACID 15% GEL PEEL $34.95
If you've never tried out a chemical peel at-home or at all, this is a fantastic peel to start with! It's also a great peel for advance users as well! It's very mild, yet effective and won't leave your skin feeling like it was slightly sunburned. Some peels I've used in the past have caused this issue and sometimes there have been quite painful results. There was no redness, pain, or swelling either- even after the application several days later.
It was easy to apply the gel peel with the nicely provided glass dropper and only took 3-4 drops total to thinly cover my face and neck areas. It's clear and has a nice light citrus-like scent too. It only took about 3 minutes to dry and then I quickly rinsed off the product with cool water. I followed application of the peel with my regular skin care routine. What I really liked with this peel is that I didn't notice any stinging or discomfort that I've run across in the past with other brands and products.
After using for a couple of weeks (2 applications) I really started to see how smooth and even my skin tone looked! I also so a nice improvement of brightness and there's been a reduction in my breakout areas and acne. When putting on my makeup, it now seems that it's much easier to achieve overall smoothness with less work, i.e. less concealer and makeup needed as a result! I would highly recommend this Fruit Acid Peel from [re]Fresh for anyone as a fantastic weekly exfoliating treatment- or just looking to add a chemical peel to their beauty regimen!
