Summer Hair Styles are Here!
With Summer just around the corner and some of us already experiencing fairly warm temps, it's time to get out the hair accessories and fun hair styles of the season. It's all about hair accessories and metallic accent pieces, with combinations and version of twists, buns, and sleeked back ponies and braids. Although many of these have been spotted on runways recently, they aren't always that easy to achieve....or do they actually transfer to real-world wearability, but no worries! The Beauty Closet has done the work for you ;) Check out my top easy picks below!
The Beauty Closet's Top 5 Easy Summer Up-Do Hair Styles:
1. Greecian Goddess:
What's great about this look is that you don't have to get it "perfect" just the idea and it can look absolutely beautiful and unique :) To achieve this, I parted my hair into 3 sections: 2 in the upper front of my head and one in the bottom/nape of my neck.
I started with the bottom portion/pony and then after twisting the section, I wrapped this around my head and on the side- keeping it in place with bobby pins. You can then take the middle and pull this porting over the top of your head and diagonally across and then tuck in the pony that you've already pinned into place.
Use the last smallest portion of hair that you have left up by your hair line around your forehead and while twisting tuck this portion to the side of your head as well- then use bobby pins to help it stay put. You can then take gold accents or barrettes as pictured above, on each section.
2. Put a Romantic Twist on it!
You can get this hair style in a snap! Side-part and sweep into a loose bun- but make sure to leave an entire layer on the side OUT of the bun entirely. Section this portion off into 4-6 smaller sections of hair and take about half of these smaller portions and twist them up to about right above your ear.
Utilize bobby pins to keep the mini-twists into place. Take the remainder smaller sections left over that weren't twisted up and tuck them into your mini-twists. You can leave 1 or 2 out as pictured above and curl up these left-out portions to leave a pretty-yet relaxed & romantic vibe :)
3. High, sophisticated and sleeked-back pony:
This style is what I've always considered to be a safe bet- at least similar versions of it seem to appear around this time every year ;) I love the one pictured above since it's clean, classy, and goes well with almost any look or style.
Use lots of gel and flat-ironing to get this look and take a small portion of the pony and wrap it around itself, ensuring to make sure this portion is ultra-smooth & sleek as well. Finish with strong-hold hair & shine sprays too, to complete the look.
4. Funky Vibes:
This may look like one of the more complicated hair styles I have pictured here today, but it turns out that it's not. I was actually doing this one all on my own a few years ago, when it probably wasn't really the "in" thing to be doing- I just liked how easy it was to achieve and it looks super cute.
What you do is start with parting you hair off into several sections- usually between 4-7, depending on how much hair you have and how much time you actually want to spend. At this point you can take each section and either secure with an elastic/pony holder and then twist each small portion of hair up into tight kinks- OR, you can just begin to twist each portion without placing a pony holder on them.
Either way, once you are done twisting each portion up, you will want to secure them in place with bobby pins. You can also leave tiny sections of the ends out as pictured above, for a fun take on the funky look :)
5. Mix it up!
Having a not-so-great-hair day....or just not sure which great Summer hair trend you want to go with? This is the way to go! Get a little bit of boho, punk, & romantic vibes- all rolled into one hair style. Start with You hair being equally sectioned into 3 parts: a lower/bottom portion, a middle/back of your head section, and an upper-portion that is about half the size of the other 2 parts.
Tie back the middle portion and twist into a tight bun, pulling out a couple of random small pieces and leaving them out. Place ultra-hold gel in these small left-out sections of the bun to get the look pictured above. The bottom section of your hair can be pulled and put back into a normal ponytail and secured as you would normally created a pony.
Lastly, take the upper-most portion of hair left and pull this back and tuck into your bun with bobby pins. you can leave a couple of super small sections and twist them back, using strong gel or hairspray to keep them into place.
