The Effects of The Sun:

I really do love this time of year- the beauty world seems to liven up a bit and you get an opportunity to get into the seasonal spirit with all of the new hair styles, colors, and beauty products! But with all of the joy of Spring in the air, we can sometimes forget about the increased risk for aging, skin damage, & cancer from Sun exposure.

The American Academy of Dermatologyadvises that even tanning emits harmful UV rays that will accelerate the aging of your skin! It also suggests that even with brief Sun exposure- like running an quick errand, you should use caution AND protection.

They recommend an SPF of 30 or higher and that it not only be water-resistant, but be applied liberally to all exposed skin not covered by clothing! CNN Posted an article on a recent study that was done on the effects that the sun has on our skin and what sunscreen actually does to protect it...and possibly prevent aging.

What they discovered was that out of 900 participants over a 4-year period, 24% were less likely to show the signs of aging :0 There's a downside to this though: the Environmental Working Group did a study a couple of years ago too on sunscreens themselves. The organization tested 800 sunscreens and found that only 25% were actually effective and without harmful ingredients :/

That's quite a bummer- considering that it's a product you want to have on your side when it comes to fighting skin cancer, the signs of aging, and other harmful effects of the sun! Have no worries- The Beauty Closet has an easy solution ;) There's a fantastic product out there that will protect your skin from the Sun's harmful rays- without tons of unhealthy ingredients! Get the lowdown below on this recommended product:
