Nail Polish Remover Get on Your Nerves?
OSHA or the United States Occupational Safety & Health Administration, has a current list of hazardous and dangerous chemicals that are found in nail salon products and there is a disturbing trend. Many of these harmful ingredients can be found in nail polish remover- like: acetone, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, formaldehyde, & isopropyl acetate :0 These ingredients cause skin, eyes, mouth, nose, & throat: irritation, headaches, dizziness! Formaldehyde has been linked as a cause for cancer and lung difficulties, in addition to allergic reactions.
There's even a case of a young 11 year-old girl who developed painful blisters on her fingers after cleaning up some spilled nail polish remover! A study from the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, looked at the event that occurred and the adverse effects of acetates and acetone found in nail polish removers. What they found, was that nail polish removers may cause: skin irritation and allergic reactions, skin brittleness, & even system toxicity following prolonged exposure [inhalation].
Unfortunately, these yucky compounds are found in most nail polish removers! Although it's almost impossible to avoid them all together, I do my best to try and avoid products that contain ingredients such as these since they aren't good for my health, family, or the environment. I know I'm probably not alone on this one, but when it comes to nail polish remover- there just aren't that many options out there sans all the bad chemicals. So what's a girl to do?! There do happen to be some options- The Beauty Closet has you covered ;) Learn more below about my recommended product from Pure Body Naturals!

What's absolutely wonderful about this product is that it doesn't contain all of the usual harsh chemicals of the above mentioned products and it won't make everyone in the room with you- want to leave! The normal horrible scent that accompanies nail polish just isn't present with this product- don't get me wrong, you can still smell the product but it isn't overpowering and irritating as the traditional products.
It works quite well too and I discovered this even with the more difficult polishes to remove- like when I've applied multiple coats, a top coat, and composed of glitter or other hard-to-remove effects. I was fairly surprised by this as I didn't expect this nail polish remover to work as well as the ones I've tried in the past- but I was wrong about my assumption.
I'm in love with this 100% Natural Nail Polish Remover from Pure Body Naturals and I'm glad that I gave the product a chance. I'd recommend this one for those that tend to have super sensitive skin or perhaps you just want to avoid the harsh chemicals- this is the product for you...AND it's very affordable too :)
