On The Hunt for a Good Beauty Read?
There are quite a few beauty books out there, but they don't always deliver a wealth of information. I've come across a few that are a bit on the vague side, are difficult to follow, or just don't offer up a lot of new information for a beauty-lover such as myself ;) That's why I'm on the hunt for great beauty reads- which is why I knew that I had to share one that I recently came across ;) This well-written beauty book addresses a wide-variety of recommendations to help you effectively achieve inner peace & an outward glow... from the ways that you sleep & eat- to achieving relaxation and a hormonal balance. A must-have for any beauty-lover and a great find for those who are just starting to delve into the beauty world :) I'm impressed with how detailed and well-written the book is. I found it so easy to read in fact, that I finished reading it in within a couple of days and would have probably read it in it's entirety- had I not been working & taking care of household chores,etc. ;)
There is a "quiz" that you can take at the Introduction- it's actually quite useful as it will help guide you on how to best utilize the book and what it has to offer. Basically, once you have completed the 6-section quiz [this only takes about 5 mins. at max.] the author advises you to tally these up.
You then start with the section in the book that receives the highest number of "points", which are assigned based on how may yeses you receive for ea. section. Once you have completed all of the sections in order- starting with the highest number and going down through zero, you can go on to the final chapter-7. This chapter offers up a way to create you own personalized glow recommendation list, all right there in the book!
What really stuck out for me with this beauty book, was that each section offers up practical, detailed advice that you can actually do on your own. For example, if you have trouble sleeping- and there are a variety of reasons and causes, you can find some decent advice on different ways to fall asleep with a natural & simple approach.
Torn on which foods to eat and which ones to stay away from? Pina shares in detail on what they are and why you need to eat them- plus there are several great pages on different diets that are effective in keeping you healthy, while effectively managing weight and your hormones. There's also a wonderful chapter on how to achieve inner peace & relaxation, which Pina believes are key to living a healthy and beautiful life :) I could not agree more! She also discusses how stress can play a negative role in our lives and it really does affect our health.
If you ever wondered about toxins and how they cause a variety of health & skin concerns, then you will find Chapter 5 Detoxification a well-informative section that you won't want to miss! One of my favorite sections in the book is Chapter 6; this portion goes into supplements and the role they play on our hormones, in addition to how they can improve our outward glow or beauty ;) A 4-page chart shows at the end of the chapter contains a list of 14 supplements that gives the details of ea., such as how much you should take, where you can obtain it naturally in certain foods, what they're use for, and the precautions of each as well.
The end of this great book is rounded up with a small summary and a 6-section Glow List that you can fill out too. This plan will help you achieve your health goals to you will be on your way to glowing skin in no-time! ;) Just in case you needed a bit further resources, Pina provides a nice 6-page section on some wonderful self-help resources that include some excellent sites, suggested brands/supplements, books the author loves, recommended practitioners, & more!
