As the holidays draw closer and closer, I'm reminded of why I really look forward to this time of year when it comes to beauty: there's SO much color- metallics, glitter, & fresh pops of color are seen everywhere! It's fun to add a little glam to the season :) I really love the season's new eye and lip looks that emerge! I thought it would be nice to share some of my fav's from this year's new bold colors and brands. Let me know what you think- if you have a top pick that I've missed, feel free to share it in the comments section at the bottom of the page!

1. Lancome

color# 385 luminous purple

Violets and purples are definitely "in" for the season and they are a lot of fun to wear! Make sure you lips are well-hydrated and smooth before applying this color. It does have a creamy formula, but due to it's deep pigmentation it also has a super-matte finish. This can tend to show every issue with your lips present- including dryness prior to application. It's moderately priced and with the excellent color and quality, you are getting what you're paying for :)

2. Yves Saint Laurent

color# 70 Nude- basic nude

This one is on the tab bit pricier side, but it's one of the BEST nude lipstick's I've come across yet. It has all the right factors of quality, feel, and look- plus it provides fantastic moisturization! As for the color, it's a great pick for almost any skin tone and universally flattering :) There are even cute lipsticks stamped onto the product that give it a unique touch too.

3. Besame Cosemtics

Classic Color Lipsticks

 American Beauty [cool berry red]

I LOVE everything about these lipsticks from Besame- they are uniquely designed and each color in the collection is beautiful. Their color do tend to run on the darker and richer side of the scale and there are only a few options available, but I was able to find one that worked even for my fair skin! The vibe is very 1930's and 40's feel with an all-around classic attitude that makes their lipsticks perfect for all ages and looks.

4. Sephora Collection

Jem & The Holograms:

Truly Outrageous Lipstick

I couldn't resist putting this on my list- it's iconic 80's fun feel brought back great memories :) The limited edition packaging completes the look and you can't not have fun with the iridescent florescent pink color either! This would make an excellent holiday gift or stocking stuffer at only $17- you can afford one for yourself as well.

5. surratt beauty

Prismatique Lips

 Lame [illuminating gold]

Although this only made #5 on my list, it's one of the best as far as quality and shine go that I've found :0 It's a little higher in price and is only available in 14 shades, but each one is prismatic and there's 1 that even goes on as one shade- and develops into another! The color "Cultive" for example, is a light opalescent blue and then turns into a beautiful shimmering shade of opalescent pink after it's applied. The shade pictured above is full of holiday flare with a glittering gold that's absolutely gorgeous :)

6. Kat Von D

Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

A-go-go [bright orange-red]

If you've been contemplating orange and have been hesitant to give it a try- this is the perfect one to go for! It's fairly flattering, even if you have fair skin and it's well-pigmented. There's a glossy finish to this lipstick, which is more like a gloss. But this product offers up the best of both worlds, without feeling thick and chalky as lipstick sometimes do after wearing them for a bit.

7. Smashbox

L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color

"Malibu Berry" [rich berry]

A great all-in-one product that will give you a natural-looking glow that leaves your skin luminous :) There's even a buffing sponge included in the bottom portion of the wand so that you can blend the product without making a mess! The rich berry pictured above provides a great veil of color without overdoing it and it's easy to build and blend for a variety of looks.
