Now I can definitely understand why a LOT of people might just be tad hesitant to jump on the 'ol bandwagon when it comes to utilizing bee venom in their skincare, but I'm not one myself to shy away from trying out new things. I really try to remain as open-minded as I can when it comes to life in general and that's no different when it comes to beauty either. Why you ask?!

As simple as it may sound, it's super easy to be close-minded sometimes without realizing it- especially when it comes to something starkly different from our norm! I've felt this myself and then come to see that I missed out on something fantastic in the end and wish I'd tried it all along! :0 That is probably the way in fact that I felt about bee venom as well- I wasn't quite sure it was a good idea or did anything...until I did some actual research.

I had heard a little bit about how this compound was being utilized to treat some medical conditions, but I also knew that the verdict was still out on the final word for many of these conditions and treatments. It's been rumored stars like Kate Middleton and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall both use bee venom-based products on a regular basis- but is it really all that everyone is claiming?!

For starters, let's take a look at the science and see what bee venom has to offer. It provides anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory abilities that are almost immediate. Since it's also an anaphylactic, it will relax the facial muscles although this effect is only temporary. The venom does assist in breaking down cell membranes and improving circulation too, leaving the skin tighter and improving it's elasticity as well.

A study published, Studies on Bee Venom and Its Medicinal Uses by Mahmoud Ali takes a look at been venom benefits and starts with its ancient origins. It's been used in China for 3,500 years and has also been traced back to ancient Egypt and Greece! The paper states that there are 18 different compounds that each have pharmaceutical properties, including hyaluronic acid which aids in the hydration of skin :)

With all of these positive factors, I knew that I had to get my hands on a product that contained bee venom and I admit that I had no idea where to start. It didn't take much searching to find what I was looking for when I came across the brand Venofye. This awesome skincare brand specializes in creating products that contain this awesome compound and more! Check out The Beauty Closet's recommended Venofye product below:

This product is really something special and that starts with the applicator and unique look that sets the Viperlift Bio Syringe apart! The product itself appears yellowish [think the color of beeswax] and looks to be quite thick, yet the well-designed applicator allows for just the right amount of product to be extracted without making a huge mess or wasting it. Although the color and appearance of thickness look a bit different than many serums you might have seen before, this one is super easy to use and spreads on perfectly as a serum should :)

You will feel the effects almost immediately after application and the best way that I can describe it, is as a bit of a light tingle. It's not unpleasant by any means, but it might be a bit different than what you are used to with a serum if you have never tried a product with a similar tingly-like feeling. I love that it dries in record time- in about a minute and there's no annoying scent either! I would recommend this product for targeting specific areas- for example, I've been using it on the smaller lines on my forehead and the ones that are starting to settle around my mouth.

I've noticed and felt a marked improvement in smoothness, elasticity, and reduction in those fine lines after just the first week of use :) I would recommend this one for those wanting to reduce the signs of aging and/or improve skin's elasticity. It is at a higher price point and I can understand that many may not want to spend that much on a beauty product in general, but I can advise that this one is highly effective and if you're trying to rid those pesky signs of aging, many products and procedures out there today can cost a lot more!
