LOOKOUT NAIL TRENDS...SPRING IS NEAR!

I LOVE the new nail color & design trends for Spring! They tend to have a fun seasonal feel that is a nice change from the darker and sometimes muted Winter styles. There's been quite a few new unique designs and shades seen on the runways so I thought I'd share some of my top picks that I've come across :) Looking for a couple of new nail colors for Spring? Check out The Beauty Closet's top 2 FAV colors below!

TOP SPRING 2016 NAIL TRENDS:

1. Pastels & French Tips [reverse]

This is a fun twist on solid pastels and ranges for pastel french tips to pastel prints. Want a unique take on this look? Reverse the french tips! You can have a lot of fun with this trend- mix up different combos of pastels or add in a solid nail here or there :)

2. A Little Bit of Light with Gold Glaze:

This look is a bit easier to wear and it's prime component involves a sleek gold glaze tint to a beautiful pastel shade. To achieve this look, go for a darker shade and then layer a pearlescent glaze top coat OR you can try a pearlized pastel shade [look at my recommended shade from Julep below!]

3. Line it Up!

This look contains 3 parts: soft pastels, inner/outside lining in opposing pastel colors, & the addition of one side lined in a metallic shade [optional]. Not only is this trend super easy to accomplish, but it's an easy way to look polished in a cinch! Out of all of the looks this upcoming season, this is my FAV!

4. Block it in Brights :)

Want to stray away from the pastels all together? Take a page from this nail trend and throw together alternating bright primary shades and block them up vertically and horizontally! Add a little metallic polish for an extra flair :)

5. Splatter & Spray Paint:

Paint nails with a super light pastel or white polish and then add a splatter polish on top. You can also get this without a splatter-type polish by dipping a toothpick into 2-4 different bright or pastel shades and then tapping onto your nails. The other option to achieve this trend by smudging different colors with a piece of sponge.

THE BEAUTY CLOSET RECOMMENDS:

Julep

Nail Polish

"Liza"

Aquamarine iridescent shimmer:

{Birthstone Collection}

$14

I'm a huge fan of iridescent shimmers and this fun take on a pastel blue shade is right on this seasons nail trends :) 2 coats of this polish and a clear top-coat will leave your nails looking fab and Julep's polish is also better & safer for nails- plus it lasts for days...even a week +! Ever since I became a Maven [Julep member], I've discovered what top-notch quality is- I've never really come across a brand that lasts as long as it does and there's no annoying chipping either! This Limited Edition polish is a tribute color to Liza Minnelli who was born in March and symbolizes the birthstone Aquamarine :)

Julep

Nail Polish

"Manda"

Sky Blue with golden shimmer

$14

This is a Limited Edition polish as well and it's a bit more "muted" than the "Liza" polish I recommended above. Although there's a light golden shimmer to it, it's not as sparkly and bright and would be great in combo with another pastel for a twist on the French Manicure. I love that this polish is also right in trend with those seen on recent runways, sporting light pastels and gold shimmer touches! The quality and formula is what you would expect from Julep- excellent :) I like using 2 coats and then adding a clear polymer top-coat for a polished finish that lasts a week +!
